Stephen Pomeroy - Chief Executive

  • Stephen is a high-level strategist and communications expert in business and media communications, with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors

  • Stephen has 20 years' experience in devising and implementing communications strategies; he has provided advice and has managed and been instrumental in many campaign programmes for international, national and regional clients

  • In combining research, political, community and media relations, he has significant expertise in providing communications support to clients and projects in the property, planning and development sectors, delivering winning formulas that give clients the right approach and tactics to achieve their objectives

  • Stephen uses his thorough understanding of government and the public sector to guide strategy and branding, ensuring that the right messages get to the right people at the right time

Lisa Alexander - Deputy Managing Director

Lisa heads the engagement team and has worked in the industry for over nine years on national property accounts across the UK. She has worked extensively in the retirement, retail and residential sectors.

Perry Miller - Associate Director

  • Perry worked at the heart of central government for a number of years as Special Adviser to a member of John Major’s Cabinet, something which his time in the Conservative Research Department prepared him well for - with many of his contemporaries now Ministers themselves, Perry keeps a keen eye on national politics

  • Perry joined Remarkable almost three years ago and, while focusing on delivering consents for his house building clients, he has also taken the lead in developing a national public affairs offering, with his experience at Westminster enabling him to provide advice to clients on national policy and how to affect change within central government

  • With most of his work being in the South East of England and London, Perry is keenly aware of the ability of local communities to galvanise against development and has developed strategies to respond to this: understanding the subtle strands that build alliances and identifying forces of influence among stakeholders is a key focus

  • Perry enjoys presenting, can write a clear and concise brief and, with a background in national politics, he is adept at analysing the political undercurrents and finding the buttons to push that will make a real difference to a client's case

Laura Wyatt - Account Director

  • Laura has been a core member of the Engagement team from the outset and, with seven years’ experience in the field, she has risen to be a strong Account Director for the team

  • She works closely with the residential and retail sectors of the company, driving projects forwards, engaging key stakeholders and putting a strong emphasis on supporter motivation; she also has detailed knowledge of working in the retirement sector, alongside experience in profile raising and reputation management for clients

  • She has worked extensively throughout the country for a whole host of clients in varying sectors and, as a result, has become adept at tailoring messaging and analysing the political and community environment of a given situation

  • Laura prides herself on tailoring bespoke and comprehensive strategies for each and every site, always striving to make a difference for her clients

Steve Houkes - Account Director

  • Having spent over 9 years specialising in political and community stakeholder engagement, Steve’s extensive project and strategic experience includes promoting projects in the residential, retail and renewable sectors

  • Following previous roles in PR, public affairs and marketing communication consultancies, Steve joined Remarkable during a period of rapid growth as an Account Director; working predominantly in the South and South East regions, he leads key members of the engagement team to support clients including McCarthy & Stone, A2 Dominion, Linden Homes and Taylor Wimpey

  • Steve has the ability to confidently engage with key community and political stakeholders to support client project objectives and increase the opportunity to achieve successful planning outcomes

  • Steve’s depth of knowledge within political and community environments helps steer applications through planning and enables wide-ranging discussions to obtain viewpoints and identify issues and aspirations relating to development proposals, including contentious and high profile projects

Carlene Leonard - Account Director

  • Before joining Remarkable, Carlene worked in public relations and communication roles in both regional and local government' as well as for commercially driven businesses; more recently, she has helped establish a small charity that provides help to people living with cancer on the Isle of Wight and continues to provide strategic support with their communication strategy

  • Carlene joined Remarkable in October 2011 and works as an Account Director with our clients in the Midlands and north of England, developing communication and consultation strategies that support her clients’ requirements in the retirement, housing and utility sectors

  • Originally from Sussex, Carlene particularly enjoys the travel element of her role which takes her to towns and regions across the north of England, such as the Lake District and the surrounding areas

  • Carlene’s enthusiasm for her work, along with her experience, has helped her clients achieve their objectives in terms of public consultation, PR and particularly stakeholder engagement; her strengths include developing effective communication strategies, delivering targeted consultation programmes and building strong relationships

Matt Turpin - Account Director

  • After completing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Politics & Philosophy and International Relations, Matthew has spent the last ten years working in public affairs and stakeholder relations and has developed extensive experience as a result

  • Joining Remarkable at the time of the Engagement division’s inception, Matthew has played a positive role in the team’s work and development to date and now serves as an Account Director working on behalf of a range of clients spanning local, regional and national spheres

  • Matthew has previously been a local government candidate and remains actively involved in local politics in his adopted home city of Southampton; this activity ensures that he thrives on opportunities to engage elected representatives, be they parish councillors or parliamentarians

  • In light of his experience in the local political arena, coupled with his personal skillset, Matthew functions as a positive ambassador and advocate for all those he represents

Simon Tuffin - Senior Account Manager

  • Simon originally joined Remarkable in 2003, taking a sabbatical break in 2005 to gain a degree in Heritage Conservation

  • Since returning to the company as a Senior Account Manager, Simon has continued to build on his vast experience, working across the country with clients in the retail, residential and retirement sectors

  • His work at Remarkable has included leading key presentations for clients, parliamentary liaison and motivating supporters on a one to one level using a range of custom techniques

  • Simon’s strengths lie in his knowledge of the political landscape, as well as his thorough understanding of issues affecting the planning and property sector, which allows him to provide clients with valued expertise and strategic advice

Mike Denness - Account Manager

  • Mike has worked in local and national politics for nearly 10 years, prior to moving into Public Affairs

  • Since joining Remarkable in June 2012 as an Account Manager, Mike has worked with clients across the country, building on his previous experience within a diverse range sectors

  • Mike particularly enjoys the face to face aspects of the job, working hard to achieve the best outcome for clients

  • Drawing on his experience in politics and public affairs, Mike has been able to develop a network of contacts around the country, in politics, planning and house building

Miles Willshire - Account Manager

  • Miles joined Remarkable in 2010 and, as an elected councillor with experience of engaging with MPs and government ministers, he brings knowledge of local government as well as a vast network of contacts within Westminster

  • During his time at Remarkable, Miles has been effective in delivering community consultation for a number of clients, including McCarthy & Stone, A2Dominion and Linden Homes

  • Since joining the team, he has taken a pivotal role in delivering success on a wide range of projects in the South East of England, including residential and mixed use schemes

  • After graduating with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, Miles undertook an internship with a PR company before starting work at Remarkable as Business Development Executive; Miles remains close to the Business Development team and enjoys attending regional and national networking events

Sam Wilson - Senior Account Executive

  • Having graduated with a Degree in Politics from the University of East Anglia, Sam has also gained experience of political campaigning whilst working as the South East Regional Campaign Organiser for a non-partisan democratic reform campaign during the 2010 election

  • Sam joined Remarkable in the summer of 2012 with a year's experience working in the public affairs and communications industry for a national supermarket chain

  • Currently a Senior Account Executive, Sam works with clients across the country including regional housing developers and national food retailers

  • Drawing on his previous experience in public affairs and campaigning, Sam particularly enjoys working alongside councillors and local groups to effectively promote the benefits of a client's projects to the wider community

Thomas Hewitt - Account Executive

  • Thomas joined Remarkable part-time in 2011 whilst also studying for his degree in Politics and Global Studies at The University of Winchester
  • Since graduating, Thomas has joined Remarkable full time and is currently an Account Executive working for clients across the country, including Linden Homes and Taylor Wimpey
  • Taking a holistic outlook to the housebuilding industry, Thomas particularly enjoys the national public affairs aspect of his job, working alongside his colleagues to promote his clients’ interests at a national level
  • Drawing on his experience of running youth campaigns to engage and empower young people, Thomas is able to effectively assist his team to achieve the best results for their clients, whilst also developing an on-going understanding of how the planning and housebuilding industry works

Emily Grainger - Account Executive

  • Emily joined remarkable in 2010 and supported the PR team whilst studying Public Relations & Communications at Southampton Solent University

  • Since graduating in 2011, she has joined the Public Affairs team within Remarkable as a permanent member of staff, providing invaluable support to her team

  • As Account Executive, Emily helps deliver community consultation for a range of clients, including Anglian Water, McCarthy & Stone and Barratt Homes

  • Emily has a passion for communications and thrives on crisis and reputation management; she also has excellent organisational skills, ensuring that public exhibitions run successfully and project deadlines are always met

Adam Foster - Account Executive

  • Adam came to Remarkable in May 2012 straight out of university, where he achieved a 2:1 degree in Public Relations and Communications; whilst at university, he gained vital experience across numerous platforms, including spells as an intern for Southampton Itchen MP John Denham and managing local campaigns for Macmillan Cancer Support

  • Adam is currently working closely with Southampton Solent University to build a strong relationship and develop a work experience programme that will give budding communications students a chance to gain experience in an agency environment

  • He enjoys working on projects that require the attributes he applied when completing his degree, with crisis communications and public affairs as personal passions

  • Adam is a strong communicator who has gained numerous skills working on political, social and business projects during his time in John Denham MP’s office and, more recently, at Remarkable

Owen Hind - Account Executive

  • Owen joined Remarkable after graduating from the University of Exeter with a degree in History and Politics.

  • Originally based in the Winchester office, Owen has since relocated to London to help establish the new office in Covent Garden.

  • Currently an Account Executive he works with various clients national, either in the planning sector or public affairs work.

  • Prior to joining Remarkable, Owen gained substantial political campaigning experience providing him with experience in shaping and helping run various successful campaigns at a national and local level.

Isobel Voss - Account Executive

  • Prior to working at Remarkable, Isobel gained a degree in Politics from Cardiff University where she also volunteered for various charities and was heavily involved in student media

  • Isobel joined Remarkable in 2012 and is currently an Account Executive working with various residential and retail clients in the Midlands and north England, including Aldi, McCarthy & Stone and David Wilson Homes

  • With a particular interest in effective methods and techniques for engaging people at a local level, Isobel enjoys undertaking detailed research into specific areas as well as coordinating and attending consultation events

  • Isobel’s strengths lie in her thorough approach and ability to use detailed research to inform engagement strategy whilst also adopting a flexible and pragmatic outlook, which allows her to deliver effective consultation on behalf of clients

Matthew Evans - Account Executive

  • Matthew joined Remarkable in September 2012, moving from the public affairs team at a major environmental charity. His role involved engaging with national politicians and cabinet members and the launch of charitable initiatives.
  • Further to this, Matthew also has years of experience working in retail for a major UK mobile network, leaving him comfortable speaking with members of the general public. This background has also provided an in-depth understanding of developments and trends in consumer digital technology.

  • Focusing primarily on the South of England and London, Matthew works on engaging with communities and stakeholders on planning and development proposals. He is also part of the team that handles national political engagement for clients.

  • Matthew studied Politics and International Relations at the University of Southampton, completing a dissertation on water-based conflict. 

Gregg Meehan - Graphic Designer

  • After completing a degree in Advertising and Design, Gregg gained experience with a variety of London based agencies before joining Remarkable’s creative team in 2008

  • Gregg developed his design skills whilst working with a wide range of clients in the pharmaceutical, sports, electrical and planning sectors, before joining the Engagement team as their dedicated in-house Graphic Designer

  • Gregg is now an established designer specialising in logo development, large display concepts, brochure and newsletter design

  • With advanced skills using Creative suite 5, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop programmes, Gregg supports clients with tailored creative concepts and he is experienced in implementing client specific design elements to accommodate company guidelines

Katie Burridge - Administrator

  • Katie graduated in 2010 with a BA Honours Degree in Criminology; having focused largely on the link between Politics and Crime, she has a broad understanding of the dynamics of politics

  • Katie joined Remarkable Group in May 2012, having previously worked as a studio manager for a well-established photography studio, giving her the knowledge and organisational skills needed to work within such a fast-paced environment

  • Her primary responsibility at Remarkable is the coordination of all administrative procedures: particular tasks include liaising closely with Account Directors and Executives on a variety of client projects, meetings and travel arrangements

  • Katie is fundamental in ensuring deadlines are met and guaranteeing the smooth running of the Engagement team on a day to day basis
